A Comparison of Virtual Colonoscopy Methods for Colon Cleansing

Electronic colon cleansing (ECC) attempts to segment the colon lumen from a patient's abdominal image collected for colonic content marking using an oral contrast agent. There are numerous algorithms and ECC methods. Some benefits, drawbacks and technological aspects of their approaches were explained in the reviewed papers of this study, and we briefly describe some of the important techniques used in practical terms to ease the comparison of ECC techniques for researchers interested in studying this sector.
